Ship’s electrician/Electrical engineer

Then read about what Van Oord can offer you. For our fleet we are looking for a Ship’s Electrician/Electrical Engineer.
The position
A Ship’s Electrician/electrical Engineer maintains and repairs the on-board electrical installations.
Other duties:
- You will work on one of our modern ships, such as a trailing suction hopper dredger, cutter dredger, fallpipe vessel, stationary suction dredger or stone dumper.
- You will be the only electrician/electrical engineer on board, making a wide range of electrical engineering and electronics knowledge essential.
- You must be prepared to be deployed anywhere in the world; you will work on an on-duty/on-leave schedule of two, four or six weeks.
We ask for
- At least a secondary or higher vocational qualification or equivalent.
- Preferably a seaman’s book, valid medical certification and a Basic Safety certificate.
- Minimum of five years of work experience.
- Flexibility, stress-resistance, and ability to work independently.
- A good command of the Dutch and English languages.
